Water Meter Replacement / New Installation
Coulter specializes in large, flanged meter replacements and new installations. The selection
of the size and type of meter to be installed can be complex when matters such as peak flow demands,
data acquisition needs, control functions etc. are required. Coulter can provide recommendations for
these functions, ensuring the proper meter is installed correctly the first time.
Regarding a replacement, the "lift-out" can run up to 3,500 LB. Before commencing the replacement,
Coulter personnel attend the site, take detailed measurements and submit a "scope of work" program to the
customer. Additionally, our job survey will underline any plumbing deficiencies which can be corrected at
the same time the new meter is installed. Where the meter location is in a confined space, a "Hazard Assessment"
and "CSE" plan are submitted to the customer. Once all aspects of the replacement are agreed upon, the work is s
cheduled and completed on time. We strongly recommend that before an existing meter is removed from service,
same is flow tested "in-situ" and the new meter is subjected to the same tests after installation. In so doing, any
changes in consumption can be readily explained, avoiding future complaints.

data capture systems etc., Coulter can prescribe the proper meter, supply and install, and commission same.
